About the Speakers:
Lienne Shonhiwa – Founder of Manetain Organics
Lienne is a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow with seven years professional experience in supply chain and she is building a supply-chain consultancy in Zimbabwe, she uses he seven year’s experience, her drive and ambitious nature assisting start-ups and small to medium enterprises in their supply chain. Lienne is also passionate about African Hair and produces African Products made in Africa for Africa. She is the founder of Manetain Organics, an organic handmade haircare line intended for African textured hair. For her products she makes use of indigenous ingredients that are beneficial for the hair as well as supportive for the local community. Lienne is currently the Head of Operations at Manetain Organics, her responsibilitis are the key operations functions of the company which include supply, logistics and administration. She is the head of social responsibility for the Charity and Sisterhood network(CS Network) and the co – founder of Cactus Business Acceletrator. Lienne is a holder of Bachalor of Social Sciece in Psychology (Hons) from Africa University and holds a Six Sigma Yellow belt.
Noreen Mangoma – Founder of Chenesai and Fashion Designer
Noreen Chenesai Mukora-Mangoma holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and a LLM in International Trade and Investment Law in Africa. She also holds a Certification in Community Leadership through ‘Common Purpose Group” South Africa. She also holds a certificate in “Advanced Human Rights Systems in Africa” from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. She is certified as an emerging entrepreneur by ‘ACT in Africa’ an entrepreneurship training program.
Chenesai ‘passionpreneur’ is a Fashion Designer/Stylist and owns Chenesai Brand a brand that celebrates women and incorporates economic styling. Her brand celebrates the African woman of colour. Her dedication is to remember, recover that which has sustainted the African woman over the centuries. As she works on creating her own textile she fuses black and white fabrics with african print fabric as a symbol celebrating the vibrant, happy, innovative and industrious women of the African continent.
She is a life collaborator who employs motivational speaking that is focused on mentoring youth groups to realise their full potential. As means to spread the empowerment message, Noreen is also the co-contributor to the blog With love, From Zim – a lifestyle and fashion blog.
Noreen is a co-founder of 4 the community by the communitya non-profit organization based in Harare which focuses on providing legal and project management assistance to existing community based enterprises.
Noreen is also co-founder of WearZim #lovelocal Campaign. A campaign aimed to promote Zimbabwean designers’ work by resourcing different platforms to exhibit their work so as to have locals choose local apparal. This would have the result of creating employment, increasing exports, boosting innovative designs, reviving the fashion industry and adding value. Bringing Zimbabwean fashion to the WORLD.
Noreen is also currently working as an Expert Community based trainer under Oasis Zimbabwe on a project geared at Womens Economic strengthening in Harare, Zimbabwe. Noreen is also engaged in mentorship program for young girls from the Dominican Convent Harare and Peterhouse Girls ( adding to the list, Monte Casino and Nagle House) by offering a series of talks on “The Power of Choices: A discussion on life and career”.
Noreen is currently running her business out of the farming region of Marondera. Farming regions are generally plagued with high rate of unemployment, teenage pregnancy, high levels of school dropout and lack of general life skills but for farm laborer. Noreen’s long term goal is to introduce vocational training skills, i.e sewing to young girls in this region starting them as young as 10 years old. It is an accepted fact that educating the girl child is the gateway to sustainable development.
Shamiso Mutaviri – Make Up Artist & Hair Stylist
Shamiso is a Business Management graduate with three years of retail sales experience in the fashion and beauty industry. She is also a professional hairstylist and makeup artist with Aveda Cosmetology Certification, and she has used her knowledge in the beauty industry to work in Public Relations for companies such as Lancôme, Natura Bissé and Lano Cosmetics in the USA. She is also skilled in wig-making for every occasion, whether it be costume or everyday. Shamiso is very passionate about well-being and beauty habits, so she aims to inform as many people as possible on the benefits of using hair and skin products that are low to zero chemicals for health purposes.
