My first Livingstone Resort experience was more than I could have imagined! The stunning Radisson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya Livingstone Resort opened its doors not more than a year ago and has been on bucket list for a few months. After weeks of planning, I am so excited to share more of my adventures in Livingstone with the Radisson .
If you are travelling from Zimbabwe like myself, I flew Fastjet to Victoria Falls Town and then used a local Zimbabwean taxi shuttle service , Sheppy Taxis and Trasnfers to the border. Once at the border , a number of Taxis have partnerships with Zambian taxi service providers so a simple handover makes the process quicker and less administrative and costly which Sheppy facilitated.I
Immigration is fairly quick and for SADC passport holders entry is free. The queues at immigration move moderately fast but there are moment when there are large groups , buses which are the busy hours.
After receiving our entry stamps and roughly a 20 min drive to the Resort- WE ARRIVED and what a welcome
The Spectacular Setting
What a stunning setting ! The Resort is nestled on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, where the waters plunge into the iconic Victoria Falls, the Radisson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya Livingstone Resort stands as a beacon of luxury and tranquility.
The impressive facilities , decor and ambiance certainly add to the allure of the resort. Blending a contemporary African sophistication with the raw beauty of nature makes the resort a true gem.
Picture yourself arriving to the soothing sounds of the Zambezi River, surrounded by lush greenery and the distant roar of the falls. A delicious welcome drink was presented which would become my classic cocktail during the trip “The Zambezi River” which is also their signature cocktail.
After a welcome brief and tour of the public areas it was time to unwind and check into our rooms.
The resort boasts a range of accommodation options designed to cater to the diverse preferences of its guests. From spacious and well-appointed rooms to lavish suites, each space is a sanctuary of comfort and style.
I was booked in their standard rooms which interiors seamlessly blend contemporary design with African influences, creating an ambiance that is both welcoming and sophisticated. The river facing rooms are wonderful for those beautiful moments taking in the Zambezi – Which I quite loved every morning.
Dinning , Activities and Adventure
Food is definitely important when you are staying at a resort and breakfast was my favourite meal as they had an impressive spread. A great way to start the day! A highlight at breakfast was the freshly baked croissants and fresh fruit and juices which included Beetroot and Pineapple. I also loved that the restaurants are Halal friendly which is great for travellers like myself who eat Halal. The Buffet options are preferred as you have more options, I would love to see more variation and availability on their A la carte Menu.
For those seeking adventure, the resort provides a plethora of activities that showcase the region’s natural wonders. From helicopter rides over the falls to river cruises on the Zambezi, Swimming at Devil’s pool during the low season – guests can tailor their stay to their preferred level of excitement. Swimming was one of my favourite things to do.
For a more relaxing experience, the resort offers a serene spa and wellness center, where guests can rejuvenate their senses. This was the ultimate form of luxury.
You immediately step into a world of tranquility as you enter the Spa at Radisson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya. The ambiance is carefully crafted to evoke a sense of calm, with soothing music, soft lighting, and the scent of essential oils permeating the air. The design is complimented by the stunning infinity pool overlooking the Zambezi.
I thoroughly enjoyed my “Gift of Wellness” treatment which included a body scrub, Full body massage and foot massage. The Highly skilled therapists use a blend of traditional techniques and modern practices to ensure a truly transformative experience. The tranquil therapy session left me feeling rejuvenated and cam – precisely what I needed.
With two pools on site, both the infinity and larger main pool terrace-it is the best way to cool down and relax. With the infinity pool, the design creates the illusion of endless waters, offering a captivating view that stretches towards the horizon. IMPRESSIVE! Surrounded by lush greenery, the Infinity Pool is the perfect spot for both tranquility and Instagram moments especially during Sunset
To elevate the poolside experience, the resort offers private cabanas strategically positioned around the pools. These exclusive retreats provide a haven of privacy and comfort, allowing guests to unwind in style. With attentive poolside service, you can indulge in refreshing beverages and culinary delights without ever leaving the cool embrace of the water.
Sunsets are what the Zambezi is known for and the resort has a beautiful Sunset Cruise boat that docks off at 4 pm everyday. As the boat sets sail, guests are treated to views of the riverbanks, where wildlife roams freely. On our cruise we spotted a few hippos , crocodiles and yes Elephants.
As the sun sets , it cast a a golden glow over the horizon where guests can marvel at the spectacular setting . Magical to capture! The Sunset Cruise experience is complemented by a curated selection of beverages and delectable snacks. A wonderful way to end my 3 days The Radisson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya Livingstone Resort
Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a blend of both, this resort offers an enchanting escape that will leave a lasting imprint on your heart and soul.Day visits across to the Zimbabwean side is also an enjoyable treat as there are quite a few eating spots , adventure sports and shared activities like bungee jumping
