So this week, The Vic Falls Carnival has been blowing up my social media time lines and its seems the festival is getting all geared up for another fantastic New Year’s party jam in the notorious Smoke That thunders once again.
The Victoria Falls Carnival is 3 years old and each year seems to grow even more. The 3 days carnival is an experience where music and entertainment meets the wild. Jameson Irish Whiskey continues as title sponsor, bringing this African phenomenon to the Victoria Falls.Different parties and events take place throughout the carnival like the train and secret bush party. With the scenic back drop of Victoria Falls, it is undeniably a stunning venue. As for accommodation, music lovers get to camp in the African savannah or 5 star it up at one of the luxury hotel / safari venues for 3 days for the love of welcoming the New Year and celebrating the end of the year.
This year’s line up has one of my favourite Cape Town duos headlining, the energetic Gold Fish, Beatenberg, Winky D, Oliver Mtukudzi and many more. With the big SA names headlining the event, I’m pretty sure a large number of eager South Africans and neighbouring tourists will be flocking to Zimbabwe. It is also refreshing to see a local dancehall act, Winky D headlining the carnival and we sure the Bigimans energy is going to erupt the carnival.
This year’s carnival has different tickets options depending on how long you plan on staying for and what you plan on attending. Visit the Vic Falls Carnival website for all the pricing details. Tickets range from $55-$100. For some of the highlights of the carnival, Seed experiences did a fantastic after-movie for the 2013 Carnival.
While I’m still not sure what my New Year’s plans are this is definitely on the list…time I start applying for a press pass.
